Sign in to the Microsoft privacy dashboard, open Search history and select Download your data. For a copy of everything in your account, use the Download your data page of the dashboard, which prepares an archive you can download when it's ready.
Clearing your history can't be undone, so it's worth exporting a copy first if you might want to look something up later. You need to have been signed in with a Microsoft account when you searched: signed-out searches can't be exported.
Download your search history
- Go to account.microsoft.com/privacy and sign in.
- Open the Search history section.
- Select Download your data at the top of the list.
- Save the file. It opens in Excel, Google Sheets, Numbers or any text editor.
Download everything in your Microsoft account
- In the privacy dashboard, go to the Download your data page.
- Create a new archive and choose the categories you want (search history, browsing history, location and so on).
- When Microsoft has prepared the archive, download it from the same page.
A full archive can take a while to prepare if your account has years of activity.
What the export contains
- The words you searched for.
- When you searched.
- Depending on the export, related details such as the result you clicked.
Keep the file somewhere private: a search history says a lot about a person.
Export Copilot chats too
Copilot conversations aren't in the search history file. Export them from the Copilot section of the dashboard with Export. See Copilot chat history.
Then clear it
Once you have your copy, you can delete your Bing history without losing anything you might need.
